This 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible is powered by a rebuilt 390ci OHV V8 engine equipped with a new camshaft, timing chain and sprockets, pistons, rings, bearings, lifters, valves with hardened seats, oil pump, reground crankshaft, water pump and a larger radiator with a transmission cooler. Fuel and ignition upgrades include a rebuilt carburetor and distributor with vacuum advance, as well as a new fuel pump and starter. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission installed in 2019, paired with a new driveshaft and U-joints. Mechanical work includes updates to the braking system, cooling system, electrical system and transmission. The braking system features a front disc-brake conversion, and the vehicle rides on Kelsey-Hayes chrome-finished 15-inch wire wheels with Cadillac-branded center caps and wide whitewall tires. Power steering with a rebuilt gearbox and heavy-duty rear springs and shocks assist handling. Restored in red, the vehicle features a replacement white retractable soft-top along with weatherstripping and rebuilt hydraulic cylinders for the power-operated top mechanism. The brightwork was refinished and includes the bumpers, moldings, grille, driver's side-view mirror, badging and other exterior accents.
