This early-production 1957 Chevrolet Corvette "Fuelie" is equipped
with its factory fuel-injected 283ci V8 engine with verified
matching numbers on the engine block, distributor, generator,
Rochester fuel-injection unit and body components. This example
features the Rochester 7014360 fuel-injection unit - the very first
design used by GM, fitted only to the earliest "Fuelie" Corvettes
for 1957. Professionally restored, this Corvette has received new
paint, interior, chrome, stainless trim, wiring harness, exhaust
system and a major engine rebuild. The 283ci V8 is equipped with
the sought-after Duntov performance camshaft, enabling the engine
to deliver its factory-rated 283hp - the celebrated "1 horsepower
per cubic inch" milestone that made the 1957 "Fuelie" legendary.
Both a soft-top and a removable hardtop accompany the car.
