This freshly completed 1970 Plymouth Road Runner has been
professionally restored and custom-built into a HEMI Superbird
re-creation. Power comes from a modern Gen III 5.7-liter HEMI V8
engine, fed by a Holley Terminator X fuel-injection system for
improved throttle response and tunability. The HEMI is paired with
a Mopar 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. A
fuel-injection controller with external gauge allows for real-time
monitoring and adjustment. The car is equipped with power steering
and power brakes. The Resto-Mod theme continues inside with custom
front leather buckets with suede inserts, a custom console and
modern shifter. The factory rear bench was reupholstered to match
the front buckets. Digital-analog gauges provide vintage-inspired
styling with modern accuracy, while a hidden media player preserves
the period-correct look without sacrificing entertainment. The
troublesome factory vacuum-operated headlight system has been
replaced with a clean and reliable electric-switch setup. The
exterior is finished in custom Petty Blue paint, professionally
finished to a high-gloss, show-quality presentation on its laser
straight panels. The lowered stance is enhanced by custom widened
factory-style Mopar steelie wheels, painted to match and fitted
with correct dog-dish center caps and mounted with Cooper tires
giving it a modified period correct look. The build has 317 miles
since completion.
