The 1958 Chevrolet 3100 custom panel wagon is powered by a new
350ci Chevrolet small-block V8 engine equipped with an Edelbrock
intake manifold, 4-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, Cadillac
batwing air cleaner and Rams Horn exhaust manifolds, with power
routed through a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with a
B&M floor shifter to a GM 12-bolt rear end, and finished with a
custom exhaust system with chrome tips. The chassis rides on new
custom Rally wheels wrapped in new Goodyear Wrangler radial tires.
The exterior is finished in period-correct Mobiloil lubricant
delivery livery and features new chrome trim, fresh Apache 3100
emblems, a frenched radio antenna, new mirrors, updated lenses, new
headlamps, all-new window glass and rear dual-opening delivery
doors. The interior consists of a custom gray interior with
restored front seating and window winders, along with the original
steering wheel, an opening glove box, a restored speedometer
cluster with fully functioning gauges, working horn and turn
signals, and a retro-style stereo with new speakers. The cargo area
is finished with wood-and-chrome tie-down strips and includes
hooks, a fire extinguisher and spare tire. Period-correct Mobiloil
graphics include Pegasus delivery door logos, flammable warning
labels and correct 7-inch blue Mobiloil box lettering, and the
restoration is accompanied by extensive Mobil Petroliana consisting
of a Mobil delivery driver hat and T-shirt, a "Jimmy Bryan & Mobil
Win the 1958 Indy 500" metal interior sign and multiple Mobiloil
locking steel drums with correct Pegasus graphics secured in wooden
delivery crates.
