This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is powered by its rebuilt 283ci
V8 engine rated at 220hp, paired with a rebuilt 2-speed Powerglide
transmission. The exhaust, chassis and suspension components were
fully restored during the frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration, with
the chassis powder-coated and every component dismantled, restored
and reassembled. Braking components were also restored as part of
the mechanical refurbishment. The exterior has been refinished to
factory specifications in its original India Ivory and Tropical
Turquoise combination, with all brightwork and emblems replaced or
restored, including Golden Chevrolet badging, restored spinner
wheel covers and wide whitewall tires. The interior was restored
front to back with new upholstery, door panels, carpet, sill
plates, dash components, gauges, trim and the factory-style chrome
ribbing on the roof, and the tailgate operates correctly with its
roll-down crank rear window. Additional features include a Wonder
Bar radio, restored trim throughout and chrome redone by Classic
Chrome Plating specializing in Tri-Five components. The vehicle
retains its original VIN and is accompanied by manuals, receipts
and a collection of items including the 45-rpm record "Chevrolet
Classics: The Mysterious Waldorf Cinderella Car 55 56 57." Fewer
than 100 miles have been added since restoration. This Nomad is one
of 6,103 produced for the 1957 model year.
