This custom 1933 Studebaker Rockne is powered by a rebuilt
Chevrolet 350ci V8 engine mated to a rebuilt 700R 4-speed automatic
transmission and equipped with a shift kit. This custom build began
with a factory original Rockne all-steel body and frame. The top
has been professionally chopped 3 inches, and the exterior was
refinished in purple with custom flames over a professionally
prepared body. The chassis features an upgraded Mustang II front
end with tubular control arms, rack & pinion steering and vented
power disc brakes. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a
9-inch Ford rear end. Cooling is supported by an upgraded electric
fan and spent gases are routed through shortie headers into a dual
exhaust system. The interior features new Stewart-Warner gauges, a
Camaro tilt steering column topped with a wood-trimmed Grant GT
steering wheel, and front bucket seats sourced from a Chevrolet
Camaro and upholstered with matching inserts. This Rockne has
suicide doors and rides on 15-inch chrome Smoothie wheels wrapped
in BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires. It has been driven 500 miles
since completion and has earned multiple awards at local car shows.
The Rockne brand and its models were named in honor of the famous
University of Notre Dame football coach, Knute Rockne, who joined
Studebaker in 1928. Rockne cars were only produced for two years,
1932 and 1933. **TITLED AS 0000 SPCNS**
