*1969 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow*Between 1965 and 1980, if you
considered yourself a "somebody" you drove a Rolls Royce Silver
Shadow. The car of choice for entertainers, celebrities and a
fixture in many movies and TV shows, the Shadow was the
quintessential Rolls Royce for a generation. With its timeless
styling, opulent interior and powerful V8, the Silver Shadow
remains a wonderful car with a level of refinement that is still
impressive to this day. This 1969 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was sold
new in Whittier, California and has been well cared for from new.
Originally finished in two-tone black and gold, the car was
professionally repainted in 2020 in the stunning light metallic
blue shade it wears today, at which time it also received all new
seals and weatherstripping. As an early car, this Shadow wears the
slimmer pre-impact bumpers which really accentuate what the car
should have always looked like, and highlight the large waterfall
grille, topped by the famed Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament. The
car rides on 15-inch wheels with chrome and body color hubcaps
which add to the very classy aesthetic.Open the door and you are
met by beautiful tan Connolly leather on the seats and door cards
which is believed to be original. For the time, this car was
equipped with some very serious luxury features including power
adjustable front seats, rear foot rests, air conditioning and power
windows all around. Wilton Wool carpets - a Rolls Royce signature
to this day- are also fitted to this example. Slide behind the
two-spoke steering wheel and you are met by a refinished wood
dashboard with white-on-black Smiths gauges laid out in front of
you. The wood continues on to the door toppers and the original
Motorola AM/FM stereo is still fitted in the dashboard.Under the
hood sits a 6.2-liter V8 topped with dual SU carburetors. This was
in the era where Rolls Royce defined the power output of their cars
as "adequate" but built engines for lots of low-down torque for
smooth cruising and easy passing. This motor is then connected to a
3-speed GM TH400 automatic transmission which offers smooth shifts
and makes transmission servicing simple. Speaking of servicing,
this car benefits from some significant servicing by marque experts
including Rolls Connection and Bristol Motors in British Columbia.
The most recent annual service was completed in June of 2025 by
Rolls Connection, so the car runs and drives very well. These days,
luxury cars are all about technology and removing you as much as
possible from the drive. This Rolls Royce Silver Shadow offers a
fantastically comfortable, quite and high-quality car, that will
only become more appreciated as time progresses, rather than
becoming outdated. Finished in a great color and enthusiast owned
for years, this Rolls Royce will draw eyes everywhere you go and
provide years of enjoyable motoring.*Key Features* * Early Silver
