"NISMO, the premier supplier of high performance aftermarket parts
and accessories for Nissan vehicles in the United States since
2003, previously participated in the development of the NISMO
Frontier off road pickup truck, introduced in 2005. The NISMO 350Z
is the second Nissan model to be branded with the legendary marque.
Like the Frontier model, which is specially equipped for off road
excursions, the 2007 NISMO 350Z is optimized for enthusiast
drivers." Nissannews.com, Oct. 2006
For consignment, a 2007 Nissan 350z Nismo Turbo coupe with a title
verified 151,237 actual miles. This is car #107 of 1,600 built and
checks all the boxes; one owner, garage kept, fueled always with
high octane and synthetic oil, mostly highway miles, according to
our consignor.
Exterior
Named for the famous time trial hill climb in Colorado, Pikes Peak
White covers this streamlined Japanese sports car which is adorned
with wind tunnel proven aerodynamics. That's right, the chin
spoiler, wing, rear fascia, and other touches are not just for
show, they're for airflow and downforce! 18-inch Rays Engineering
wheels carry ZR rated, staggered tires with a late 2018 date code
and wear the same argent gray as the body cladding, while the
yellow Brembo calipers add a flash of bright color. Underneath it
all is the 350's classic shape with flush headlights and tail
lights, raked windshield, curves everywhere, and the characteristic
vertical door handles. Imperfections include numerous touched up
chips and scratches, flex cracks on the bumpers with cracking on
the rear, chipped paint, scratches, scuffs on the chin spoiler, and
scratch lines that encircle the entire diameter of the wheels.
Interior
Red stitching adds a bit of flair to the smooth black door panels
where the faux riveted door pull mirrors the outside handle and
both doors present cleanly. Red and black cloth buckets fill the
cabin with a peeled section on the driver's side support and the
passenger's in excellent shape. Behind them, formed plastic storage
and embedded speakers seamlessly attached to the center console
which holds the stout shifter under the center stack of A/C knobs
and the AM/FM/Multi CD unit and a storage bin that shows outward
patina. The race inspired wheel and instrument cluster includes
central gauges iconically canted towards the driver and Nismo
badging graces the red on gray tachometer front and center. The
coveted Nismo badge and car number is displayed near the shifter
and the contrast of black carpet and gray headliner is a welcome
deviation from the norm.
Drivetrain
The nicely detailed bay holds the 3.5 liter DOHC V6 rated at 306
horsepower that's mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which
routes power to the rear locking axle with 3.53 gears.
Undercarriage
The belly scrapes, surface rust, and residual oil stains align with
a car of this mileage and raise no red flags in our book. The
exhaust converges as one, then enters an original muffler,
splitting again to exit via tree trunk sized exhaust tips, which
have lost their luster that is just under the surface. Brembo power
disc brakes are at all four corners and multi link independent
suspension is at the front and the back.
Drive-Ability
In predictive Japanese consistency, the car starts up without
issue, emits a sweet but not offensive exhaust note, and rolls onto
the test loop as we steer from a comfortable cockpit that's
designed for the driver. The car demonstrates good power and
astounding handling and we're impressed with the braking as well.
Not surprisingly, all functions on the inside and out work just as
they should and we race this one back to the mall so that the world
can see it. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions
were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee
these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Rare, special, and desirable, the NISMO edition of the 350 is the
stuff of legends. This one's been around the block or two, but
still has lots of curves and straightaways ahead. Our consignor
used it as a daily for a while and you have that option, or save
this one for car shows, cruise nights, and the inevitable JDM
gatherings in your area!
