For Sale: 1967 Plymouth Satellite in Chino, California

Vehicle Description

1967 Plymouth Satellite - Ground Up Concours Restoration

Now on offer is this spectacular 1967 Plymouth Satellite finished in Bright Blue Iridescent over and Pearl White interior. This example has just been completed from a painstaking multi year ground up restoration to the highest standards in which over $120,000 has been invested. This example was completely disassembled and treated to a bare metal frame-off refinish that presents today as likely the nicest example available anywhere. The car has just 48 break-in miles since completion and is ready for its new owner to show it at concours events or enjoy it as an effectively brand new 1967 example that has tasteful upgrades that don’t detract from the car’s originality.

The restoration began in 2020 with an arrow straight 1967 California based example that only required minimal metal work and panel replacement. The color combination is original to this particular example. The body and interior restoration was performed by renowned Mopar specialist Scott Ewing and the craftsmanship and fit and finish is outstanding.

Over $7,000 alone was spent on the brightwork and trim that the car wears. King of Trim fully restored all of the anodized and chrome trim that the car wears and it presents in outstanding condition today. The interior is spectacular and outfitted just as when the car left the factory. The correct material, trim and surface finishes are replicated throughout. The car has been shown once since completion and won Best Interior at the show it attended.

The engine is a 440 cubic engine V8 that has been stroked to 505ci. The heads are original 1967 915s with 2.14 inch intake valves and 1.74 inch exhaust valves. The engine has Howards Big Block lifters and a Scat rotating assembly. Fueling is provided by an Edelbrock 800 CFM carburetor. Cooling is provided by a 26 inch custom radiator that is made to look factory.  Aesthetically the engine is very correct with original valve covers that have been rechromed, an NOS air cleaner and an NOS 440ci pie pan. The exhaust is a TTI 2.5 inch manifold-back x-pipe system with ceramic headers and Dynaflow mufflers. The engine is paired to a torque flight 3-speed automatic transmission with a 489 Posi 8 ¾ rear end with 3.23 gears. The transmission and rear end are paired by a brand new driveshaft. The car makes outstanding power and pulls exceptionally well through the rev range; it is properly fast. The gearbox shifts smoothly and provides for an effortless drive when cruising.

The undercarriage is immaculate as shown in the photos. Everything has been restored with proper surface finishes and plating throughout. The car wears a larger diameter front sway bar, and an added rear sway bar from the company Firm Feel. The torsion bars are also from Firm Feel and are 1 ⅛ inch. The steering box was overhauled by Firm Feel with their stage 2 treatment and provides a much more precise input experience over factory when driving. The car sits on Magnum 500 15 inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. A front disc brake kit has been installed in combination with a gen 4 power booster master cylinder for added stopping power and more modern usability.

This magnificently restored Satellite is accompanied by an original owners manual, original jack, correct spare wheel and a detailed set of complete restoration records. Many more photos, cold start, driving and walk around videos are available upon request via a google drive link. Any questions please feel free to inquire!
