This custom 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is powered by a 454ci V8 engine
mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a Curry 9-ich
rear end. It was built from the ground up, except for the finishing
bodywork and paint, by a veteran in his garage and completed in
2023. Under the hood is an HP 454ci engine built by Blackfoot
Racing and Gibson Performance Engines. The engine is topped with a
custom-tuned and color-matching Quick Fuel Brawler by RPM
Performance. The ignition is an MSD billet distributor and 6AL
Control Module. Keeping things cool is a Ron Davis double-row
aluminum radiator with dual 13-inch fans. Steering control is
provided with a Sweet Manufacturing-built 12:1 power steering box.
Backing up the engine is a Silversport Tremec 5-speed transmission
and a narrowed Curry 9-inch rear with 3.89 gears, performance
31-spline T&E axles, Tru Trac differential, 1310 Yoke, 9+
nodular sportsman case with a 9+ race pinon. The Ridetech four-link
coilover suspension with a Ridetech rear sway bar keeps all this
power on the ground. An Eddie Motorsports billet full serpentine
belt drives air conditioning, power steering, alternator and water
pump. It rides on custom offset Boze ZE Boost aluminum wheels, with
18x8 Nitto NT555 G2 245/40ZR18 tires on the front and 19x12 Nitto
NT555 G2 305/30ZR19 tires on the rear. It is also equipped with
Wilwood disc brakes front and rear. Front and rears are drilled and
slotted rotors, with 6-piston on the front and 4-piston in the
rear, backed by a Wilwood master cylinder. The fully custom TMI
interior sports leather seats, a one-piece Charcoal headliner,
matching door/quarter interior panels, console, dash cover and rear
package tray. The interior is outfitted with a Vintage Air
climate-control system, Dakota Digital gauges, leather-wrapped Momo
steering wheel, Ididit tilt steering and Nu-Relics power windows
with Rod & Kustom remote locks. The interior is finished off with a
remote RetroSound head unit with Alpine 6x9 in the rear deck and
Alpine 6-inch speakers in the kick panels. This car received a
complete frame-off rotisserie restoration. Heidt's subframe
connectors keep the body in-line. The rear wells have been
outfitted with Detroit Speed mini-tubs. The door key holes have
been shaved and the firewall has been smoothed, with the wiper
assembly relocated using a RainGear conversion. It is finished PPG
Caught Red Handed with Charcoal striping. The RS-style hidden
headlights are powered by a Detroit Speed motor. The undercarriage
and inner wheel wells have been sealed and covered with a gloss
black Rhino liner. Complete Ridetech coilover suspension with drop
spindles, upgraded upper/lower tubular control arms in the front
and four-link in the rear are loaded into this car. It also has
Ridetech TrueTurn and sway bar upgrades to provide the ultimate in
control Dynamat front to back, top to bottom. The doors, roof, door
sills, quarters, roof and side cowling are coated with rust
proofing. Electrical demands are satisfied with a Painless wiring
harness, with the battery moved to the trunk. Billet aluminum parts
throughout from Eddie Motorsports include hood hinges and hood
catch, rear taillights and side marker bezels, full front grille
with headlight inserts, outer and inner door handles, sill plate
and quarter-vents, console shift boot bezel and a rearview mirror.
The car has a custom TMI interior, with a matching finished trunk
that hides the relocated Optima yellow-top battery, which is held
in place with an Eddie Motorsports billet battery tray. Also in the
trunk is the MSD 6425 6AL ignition control box. The trunk sports a
Rod & Kustom remote open. The fuel door is a billet flip tab from
Eddie Motorsports.
