For Sale at Auction: 1955 Chevrolet 3100 in Scottsdale, Arizona

This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 custom pickup is powered by a 468ci Chevrolet big-block V8 engine, built from a 454 block bored .060 over with 4-bolt mains, forged steel crank, stainless-steel valves (2.19 intake/1.88 exhaust), SpeedPro cam, MSD ignition and Crane roller rockers. Equipped with an 800cfm Holley double-pumper carburetor, Edelbrock manifold, Hedman headers with extended collectors, dual 2.5-inch exhaust with equalizer pipe, K&N air filters, and a Griffin aluminum radiator with Hayden auxiliary fan and oil cooler. Power is sent through a B&M Street/Strip Turbo 400 transmission with shift kit and 1,600-stall converter to a narrowed 8.75-inch rear end with 3.55 gears, posi-traction, new bearings and resplined axles by Carmichael Machine in Sacramento, CA. The front suspension features a Chrysler torsion-bar K-member with a large sway bar, power steering and metallic disc brakes, while the rear uses stock Chevy leaf springs with air shocks and an added Panhard bar. It rides on polished Cragar Dragstar aluminum wheels with Mickey Thompson 29.5x15.5x15 rear tires and Cooper Grand AM 26x6x15 front tires. The frame was narrowed in the rear, modified in the front, boxed and completely rebuilt with new steering joints and a box. The all-steel Chevy body was disassembled, sandblasted and refinished in nine coats of PPG Concept Chrome Yellow acrylic urethane. The glass was supplied by Cook's Glass, and the custom interior featuring a handmade dash panel with AutoMeter gauges, speedometer and tach was completed by Bill's Upholstery in Klamath Falls, OR. Additional features include a Pioneer stereo system with Super-Tuner III, cassette player and six-disc CD changer.
