Powered by a 245.6ci "Power-Plus" inline 6-cylinder engine paired
with a 4-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed rear end providing
eight total forward gears, this custom 1951 Studebaker ramp truck
was built on the heavy-duty 2R17A-71 platform and features its
original engine. The frame is fabricated from quarter-inch-thick
steel channel measuring over 8 inches tall and just over 2 inches
wide, with a solid beam-type front axle supported by 11-leaf
springs and a heavy-duty 13,000-pound rear axle with 13-leaf
springs. This truck rides on Michelin 445/50R22.5 super singles in
the rear and Sailum 255/70R22.5 tires up front, both mounted on
polished Alcoa wheels. It carries a GVW rating of 16,000 pounds.
Modifications include a custom ramp bed with winch, 16 feet of deck
space with a custom beaver tail, compartments for ramps and
original kerosene road flares. The exhaust system features a custom
split manifold with dual side exits. The electrical system has been
converted to a standard 12-volt setup and includes electric wipers
and a period-correct radio converted to AM/FM, with the original
radio and wiper motor included. The interior has been replaced and
customized, retaining all original gauges in working condition and
showcasing detailed craftsmanship. The truck has consistently
placed at shows. Also included is a vintage Westinghouse electric
golf cart (Lot #651.1) with charging unit and built-in Coleman
cooler, presented in original unrestored condition and requiring
electrical work. **SOLD AS A PAIR WITH LOT #651.1**
