This custom 1957 Chevrolet 210 has been transformed into a serious
Pro-Street hot rod with a high-end professional build. Completed by
legendary builder Don Lindfors at Hot Rods by Altered Engineering
(Orange, CA), it features exceptional bodywork and deep Tuxedo
Black paint by Pete Santini and crew. The black body sits on a
custom Art Morrison Enterprises Pro-Street chassis finished in
silver and polished for show-level presentation. The chassis is
equipped with Art Morrison 5-inch street struts up front, while the
rear uses ladder bars with a diagonal Panhard rod and coilover
shocks, delivering the classic Pro-Street stance and planted
attitude. Wilwood Pro Series Ultralite drilled-and-slotted disc
brakes are fitted at all four corners with Wilwood calipers and a
Wilwood pedal assembly with dual master cylinders and balance bar.
The system is plumbed in polished stainless hard lines with
stainless flex lines for a clean, durable install. Power comes from
a 632ci Chevrolet big-block V8 engine custom hand-built in North
Carolina. It wears a complete Brodix aluminum top end, including
cylinder heads and intake, and is topped with a Holley 1050-cfm
Dominator carburetor. Ignition is handled by an MSD 6-series system
with rev limiter and a Pertronix-equipped distributor set up by
Fuel Curve Engineering. Fuel delivery is via an aluminum
fuel-cell-feeding Aeromotive pump, filter and regulator with return
line, all plumbed in polished stainless hard line and fittings.
Custom ceramic-coated headers feed the 4-inch exhaust with
Flowmaster mufflers, finished in satin black and exiting ahead of
the rear wheels. A Jeffco "Saturday Night Special" Pro-Street
planetary 4-speed handles the power with lever-shift operation and
ratios of 3.08/2.11/1.45/1.00. The drivetrain is supported by a
Lakewood safety bellhousing, McLeod clutch with hydraulic throwout
bearing and Wilwood clutch pedal assembly with stainless plumbing.
Out back is a fully gusseted housing with a Ford 9-inch center
section, posi-traction and 4.11 gears, fitted with Currie 31-spline
axles and a custom Inland Empire aluminum driveshaft. Cooling and
electrical systems are equally well-sorted with a Griffin aluminum
radiator, Edelbrock Victor-series aluminum water pump, Powermaster
120-amp alternator and Painless Performance wiring harness. The
stance is finished with Weld Racing wheels, 16x15 rears wrapped in
31x18.5x15 Hoosier Quick Time DOT drag tires and 6x15 fronts
wearing 26x7.5x15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires. The cockpit is
monitored by Haneline gauges. A professionally built,
purpose-driven Pro-Street 210 Post with premium components
throughout, this '57 delivers show-quality presentation backed by
serious big-block power and drag-ready hardware.
