It's not often we see a mid-year vette that we are as excited about as this one. This 66 is pretty special. Let's start with an Al Grenning CCAS certification that this is an original engine, L79, 327 350 horsepower car. Let's continue with the fact that Grenning further certified this car has its original trim tag and is indeed a factory black roadster, one of only 1190 (coupe and convertible total) black corvettes built in 1966. Grenning documentation is bullet proof in the Corvette world- he is the preeminent expert. That's a great start.

Now let's talk about factory side exhaust. Yep, from the factory not added after the fact. Rare and cool as hell. The next caretaker will get a choice of wheels as shown in the photos- either the modern American Racing Wheels for that custom look or the period Western Turbine Knockoff wheels that provide that stock, original look. Your choice. Power steering makes this roadster an absolute joy to drive when coupled with a great shifting 4-speed.

The black paint on this car presents extremely nicely with the occasional driver type flaw. The paint lays very flat and carries a great depth. The interior and engine compartment are driver plus quality clean as is the underside. Is the car perfect- nope but it certainly presents extremely well and would be a source of pride at any car show. The canvass top was installed a few years ago and is very nice. The chrome presents very well.
