The 2nd generation Viper was introduced in late 1996. It offered
more horsepower and creature comforts not available on the original
Gen1 model. This 2001 Viper RT-10 roadster is stunning. The current
owner has taken outstanding care of this total performance MOPAR
and states that the odometer mileage of just over 5,400 miles is
actual. The roadster model was equipped with a removable fiberglass
hardtop and a more traditional soft top. The hardtop was designed
utilizing a "Double Bubble" format that featured raised sections in
the fiberglass top to provide room for helmets on track days. The
glass rear window panel is also removeable.
Viper Race Yellow and Black Leather-
The very desirable Viper Race Yellow factory finish is in excellent
condition, as is the handsome Black leather interior. Features
include A/C, power tinted windows, analog gauge package, tilt
wheel, dual airbags, power locks and keyless entry. One of the most
popular features of the Gen2 Viper was the addition of electrically
adjustable pedals (3" span) as standard equipment. Sounds are
furnished by a premium AM/FM/CD sound system and the factory
Owner's Manual is included.
488ci V-10 Performance and Superb Handling-
Horsepower for the Gen2 Viper RT-10 is provided by Chrysler's OHV
488ci V-10 (8.0L) that produces 450bhp and 490lb/ft of torque.
Features of the Gen2 version included aluminum block/heads,
improved fuel injection and stronger clutch/rear differential. The
V-10 is backed by a 6-speed manual transmission, and a new exhaust
design relocated the Gen1 side-exiting exhaust to the rear. A new
stiffer Gen2 chassis was fitted with power steering, power disc
brakes with ABS and front/rear stabilizer bars. Nearly new Michelin
performance radials (275/35/18 front & 335/30/18 rear) are mounted
on factory polished alloys.
This Viper RT-10 is a performance beast, but still docile on the
street with all the creature comforts you need - just hang on and
enjoy the ride.
