"After the World War 2 scooter boom, these scooters have appeared
on the silver screen. The film Roman Holiday, released in 1953, is
one of the most famous examples of a Vespa scooter used as
transport for a princess in Rome. It is believed that the film
resulted in tens of thousands of sales for the Vespa scooters
following the film's release. Some films, like Absolute Beginners
and Quadrophenia, embraced the association of 'youth culture' with
the scooter. The latter, the most famous and arguably inspirational
with regards to its impact on the Mod Revival movement."

For consignment, a 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 scooter with a title
verified 950 miles. Long before E-bikes became the recreational
sensation they are now, scooters were the go-to quick pick for easy
transportation.
Exterior
With some obvious design influence from Cushman, the modernized
Zuma has dual headlights on the fairing that fronts the bike, here
in monochromatic black that covers just about everything in flat or
glossy noir. Even the 12-inch wheels are black as well as the
exhaust housing, dual tail light nacelle, shock absorber, mirror
posts and the mirror housing itself. All of this makes for a
compact and attractive scooter augmented by a diamond stitched
Corbin vinyl bucket seat encircled by a rail that emerges in back
as a parcel rack. Zuma decals in white project on the side of the
bike and it all presents in very nice condition with no major
flaws.
Functionality
A simple instrument cluster includes the speedometer, fuel gauge
and three indicator lights of different colors. Rubber handlebar
grips give way to plastic bezels housing various thumb controls
clearly marked and of varying shapes for those times when you can't
look down. The driver is afforded a textured rubber floor allowing
for grip, relaxed driving, and easy access. Amber turn signals are
front and rear and side reflectors are prominent on the sides.
Drivetrain
The scooter is powered by a 49cc 2 stroke 1-cylinder engine rated
at 8 horsepower and fueled by a 1-barrel carburetor. A CVT
transmission provides power via a belt drive. You have a disc brake
up front and a drum in the rear and suspension consists of a
telescopic fork up front and single shock absorber in back. The
exhaust is all original and is a single system.
This fairly modern scooter can get you across campus, over to
Westwood for a bite to eat, then over to Barrington in West L.A.
for your Pilates class. Let's say you have a big property and just
need to grab your mail each day. Perhaps you deliver food in an
urban center and need a handy scooter for that. The possibilities
are endless and this stylish Zuma has got miles of smiles
ahead!
