Description:
This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette is one of approximately 6,502 Pace Car Edition examples produced to commemorate the model's use as the pace car for the 1978 running of the Indianapolis 500. It is powered by a 350ci L48 V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Black and Silver over silver leather. The car is equipped with a Positraction differential, Official Pace Car graphics, removable roof panels, 15? eight-slot alloy wheels, a Pioneer CD stereo, and a heater.

Interior:
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in silver leather along with a color-matching dash, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior amenities include a Pioneer CD stereo, power windows, a tilting steering column, and air conditioning. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer.

Exterior:
The 1978 Corvette featured a revised fastback roofline with wraparound rear glass, and all Pace Car examples were finished in two-tone black and silver with a red stripe below the blend line. Exterior equipment includes Official Pace Car graphics, removable glass T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, side marker lights, fender air vents, and quad taillights. The 15? eight-slot alloy wheels are mounted with 225/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted discs.

Drivetrain:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential. The 350ci L48 V8 was factory rated at 185 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
