INTRODUCTION: Great colors, pony interior, a/c and a 4-speed! What
a great combo. I just acquired this car back from the gentleman I
sold it to 20 years ago, he took great care of it and we just
serviced the car. It is ready to show and go!
EXTERIOR: It looks great, especially since it was restored over 20
years ago! The body is straight and fits right, the doors shut like
new. Repainted in original Wimbledon white and it has a glossy
finish. The chrome looks like it's all been replaced: the bumpers,
emblems, dual mirrors, handles, taillights, etc. The windshield and
weatherstrips were replaced. This is a car where I prefer the vinyl
top, it looks good! The 14x7 chrome GT wheels sparkle.
INTERIOR: This is what I really like about this Stang: the two tone
aqua and white pony deluxe interior! This includes the upgraded
upholstery with embossed ponies, molded door panels, knife handle
door openers, woodgrain on the dash and a deluxe steering wheel.
The aqua carpet is good, it also has embroidered mats and seat
belts front and back. Another cool feature is the Hurst 4-speed
sticking out of the floor and right in front of that is a factory
air conditioning unit. The dash pad, headliner and visors are in
excellent shape.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This 289 runs real nice, upgraded with a Weiand
aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel carb and HiPo air cleaner. A big
feature is the air conditioning system, especially rare in a
4-speed car. It is complete with horns, fan shroud, washer fluid
bag, and even reproduction spark plug wires. Clean metal too, that
was prepped and painted.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
nicely. Inside is solid and has the vintage plaid mat.
UNDERSIDE: The steering and suspension has been gone through,
recently inspected and the idler arm and center link were replaced.
The fuel tank is brand new. It has dual exhaust with a crossover
pipe, Super Turbo mufflers and GT tips going out through the
valence. The brakes are working properly, the e-brake is hooked up.
Looking up at the motor it is clean, the starter looks fresh too.
The close ratio 4-speed trans was just rebuilt and the rear end was
resealed and has new fluid. The floors were restored and look
solid.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: As classic as baseball and American pie! Easy to work
on, parts are plentiful (stock & custom), there are clubs and
events focused on Mustangs and they have easy resale! What is the
downside?
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
