ORIGINAL OWNER 1986 BMW 635Csi 5-Speed
this 1986 BMW 635Csi was purchased by the seller in 1987 from Braiman Motorcars in West Palm Beach, Florida and shipped to the owner in Poughkeepsie, NY. While in New York from 1987 to 2009 it was only driven from the late spring to the early fall and never driven once the first snow was forecast. In 2009 it moved with the owner to Summerville, SC where it is presently located. The car is powered by a 3.5 liter inline 6 cylinder paired with a five speed manual transmission and is finished in Alpine White with a cardinal red interior. In 1994 a Dinan Performance Chip was installed thich increased both horsepower and torque and removed the rpm limiter in the original chip. In 1999 the owner installed a B&B Tri Flow performance Exhaust which was used for approximately 6 years when it was replaced by an oem exhaust because of complaints of loudness from the owner's wife. The stainless steel exhaust is intact and comes with the car. In 1998 wheels were replaced with BBS/Moda 16x7.5 5-120 rims which allowed the owner to switch from Michelin TRX tires to better performing tires. The car presently runs on Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 UHP All Season tires replaced in 2024. Since 2017 (starting with the most recent repairs and replacements) the following has been done:
2025-Rebuild and replace power steering line. Replace evaporation charcoal cannister; replace air filter. New battery.
2024-New tires. Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 UHP All Season 225/50ZR16.
2023-replaced clutch assembly, flywheel and transmission mounts; replaced shifter bushings and seal; replaced rear brake pads and rotors; replaced engine oil gasket; replaced clutch master cylinder;replaced throttle pedal bushings. Replaced radio with JVC KD-TD01BTS CD/AM/FM/Bluetooth USB ready.
2020-Replaced tie rod assemblies, front control arms and Pitman arms in rear.
2019-replaced ignition coil and oxygen sensor, valve cover gasket and breather hose.
2018-replaced crank position sensors, ignition wire end plug, alternator, ignition coil. Driver's seat reinforced and reclining mechanism repaired.
2017- Rebuilt instrument cluster assembly; replaced in tank fuel pump and in line fuel pump.
This E24 is offered with 112,504 miles. The only interior defect is the left bolster on the driver's seat which has had a leather repair by the owner with a leather piece which substantially matches the upholstery, which piece goes with the car. The car comes with all manufacturers literature, 38 years of service records and a clean South Carolina title in Sellers name. A glass desk weight of the car and an unassembled model kit will also be given to the buyer. The car may be seen in Summerville. South Carolina.
