This 1960 Chevrolet Impala custom convertible is powered by an LS3
V8 engine paired with an automatic overdrive transmission,
supported by a CVF front-runner system and an aluminum radiator
with electric fan to maintain operating temperatures. The chassis
is upgraded with power rack & pinion steering, drop spindles,
tubular control arms and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes with
a chrome booster, master cylinder, and slotted and drilled rotors.
The car rides on 20-inch Billet Specialties wheels. Interior
equipment includes leather bucket seats with a center console,
Dakota Digital VHX gauges, Vintage Air climate control, a Lokar
shifter, AutoSound radio, stainless tilt steering column and tinted
glass. Exterior features include a power convertible top and
electric wipers. The engine bay and undercarriage are finished to
match the overall presentation of the restoration and
modifications, and the LS3 powertrain, suspension and braking
upgrades are configured to provide smooth acceleration,
modern-style steering response, stable cruising and effective
braking, compared with the original 1960 configuration.
