This 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge is an unrestored original survivor car
that retains its matching-numbers drivetrain, including the 400ci
V8 engine equipped with a Ram Air III induction system and original
Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor. Factory-rated output was
366hp and 445 ft/lbs of torque. The engine is paired with its
matching-numbers Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and a
Safe-T-Track limited-slip rear differential. For the Judge's
introduction in 1969, General Motors produced an initial run of
1,000 cars, known internally as "Pattern Cars," distributed to
selected dealers nationwide for promotional and advertising use.
These "Pattern Cars" can be identified by a unique dealer order
number sequence on the factory invoice. For this example, the
special-order number is 00053, as shown on the PHS invoice
document. One identifying feature of early "Pattern Cars" is the
absence of the Judge logo on the glove box door. This Judge remains
in unrestored survivor condition with one professional older
repaint in factory-correct Carousel Red (paint code 72) and retains
its original black vinyl interior. It was owned by the original
owner until August 2025. The interior is entirely original and in
excellent condition, including the factory tachometer, padded dash,
package shelf, deluxe seat belts, vinyl upholstery, original glass
and carpet. Two-thirds of the factory exhaust system remains
intact, with replacement mufflers and correct new exhaust tips
installed. The car retains its unrestored 14-inch Rally II wheels
fitted with new Goodyear Custom Wide Tread G70-14 tires, as
equipped when new. The original spare tire, wheel and jack remain
with the car, and period photos confirm the showroom display
included wheel trim rings installed by Utter Cadillac at delivery.
Regular maintenance has been performed, including rebuilt cylinder
heads and resealing while the engine was out for cosmetic
detailing. Additional recent work includes new shocks, sway bar
bushings, belts, hoses, thermostat, clutch, throw-out bearing, pan
gasket, and rebuilt front and rear power brakes. The car also has
power steering. This Judge was built at the Fremont, CA, assembly
plant and initially delivered to Utter Cadillac in Spokane, WA. It
is supported by Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) paperwork, as well
as the original owner's manual, Protect-O-Plate, warranty booklet
and key blanks. This early "Pattern Car" represents one of the
first 1,000 GTO Judges built and is believed to be among the very
few unrestored examples remaining. 78,425 miles (title reads
exempt).
