This 1948 Dodge Power Wagon pickup is powered by its original 230ci
L-head inline-6 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission
and 2-speed transfer case. The drivetrain was fully rebuilt, with
the engine professionally reconditioned, cylinders rebored and
fitted with new pistons, rings, bearings and gaskets. It is
equipped with a 12-volt electrical conversion and a modern electric
pusher fuel pump for improved reliability. This pickup retains its
fully operational Braden MU-2 PTO winch. Finished in a custom color
inspired by the original Dodge palette, it retains its original
cab, hood, fenders and doors, all stripped to bare metal, repaired
and refinished. The bed, sourced from Vintage Power Wagons in
Fairfield, IA, was hand-fitted to factory specifications and
finished to match. This truck rides on custom 17-inch steel wheels
wrapped in period-correct tires. The interior maintains its classic
simplicity with a narrowed bench seat sourced from a 1950 Dodge
pickup, reupholstered in a factory-style pattern. Original dash,
gauges and controls were restored to working condition, and the
split-pane tilt-out windshield and cab hardware were rebuilt and
adjusted for full functionality. This Power Wagon was completed as
a frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration spanning nearly a decade from
2016 to 2025 by Robinson Restoration and Service of Denton, TX. The
restoration is fully documented with a total investment of
$236,000.
