This 1948 Chevrolet 3100 5-window pickup was custom-built by
acclaimed builder Roger Burman, owner of Lakeside Rods and Rides in
Rockwell City, IA. Power comes from an electronically fuel injected
6.0-liter LS engine mated to a 4L80 4-speed automatic transmission.
It sits on a strengthened boxed frame fitted with a Heidts Mustang
II front end with tubular A-arms, coilovers and power rack & pinion
steering. It also has four-wheel power disc brakes, a rear sway
bar, an S-10 4x4 rear end with 3.73 gears and a custom driveshaft.
It features a CVF polished front-drive system, stainless-steel
headers feeding a new dual exhaust system and a new aluminum
radiator with electric fan. The engine compartment is finished off
with custom-fabricated color-matched engine and radiator covers and
a smoothed firewall. This custom pickup rides on Billet Specialties
wheels, 20x10 rear and 18x8 front, wrapped in 245/40 rear and
225/40 front tires. The custom brown leather interior features
Dakota Digital gauges, a Billet Specialties leather trimmed chrome
steering wheel on a polished tilt-column, custom door panels and
handles, custom console, heat and air conditioning climate control,
power windows and locks, a four-speaker stereo system and plush
carpeting. The exterior is finished in Axalta Phoenix Orange paint
complemented by a wood bed with stainless-steel strips and a power
tonneau cover, all-new chrome and smoke-tinted glass. This fresh
build was completed in November 2025 and has just over 250 test
miles.
