This first-of-its-kind custom 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is powered by
a hydrogen-fueled 5.7-liter Gen 3 HEMI V8 engine and is equipped
with an Edelbrock 2650 supercharger, delivering 500hp. The engine
was built by Mike Copeland, a veteran GM engineer and CEO of
Arrington Performance and is backed by a TCI 4-speed automatic
transmission. The Cherry Red exterior is complemented by a red and
black interior. The hydrogen tank, located in the trunk, averages
200 miles per fill-up. Other features include air conditioning,
power steering, CPP power brakes and Weld wheels. The project,
sponsored by CRC Industries, was built by racing legends Clay
Millican, an NHRA Top Fuel World Champion, as well as Jeff Lutz
from "Street Outlaws" and Lutz Race Cars. The entire hammer price
will benefit the TechForce Foundation through the CRC Build for the
Future Scholarship Program, allowing at least 10 deserving students
to receive technical trade school scholarships. The higher the
sale, the more scholarships will be awarded. TechForce Foundation
is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to guide
students through education and into careers as professional
technicians. The foundation was formed to address the shortage of
skilled labor in today's workforce and works to change perceptions
of this evolving "new collar" STEM career, providing local career
exploration and workforce development programs. CRC Industries has
proudly supported TechForce and its mission over the last decade.
