Known as "Black Diamond," this 1965 Ford Mustang Resto-Mod
convertible was built by Classic Restorations of Southern Indiana.
Power comes from a Ford Racing Boss 347ci engine hooked to a Bowler
Performance Ford AODE automatic transmission. The engine has 9:7:1
compression rated at 450hp with 400 ft/lbs of torque. It is
equipped with a Borla 8-Stack EFI and Fast Fuel Management System
and breathes through modified stainless JBA shorty headers that
connect to a custom exhaust system coated with black ceramic with
NoWeeds exhaust diverters and Flowmaster mufflers. Power is
transferred to the pavement via a Chris Alston FAB9 rearend with
3.70 gears and 31-spline axles. The front suspension features
modified TCP coilovers with 1.25-inch anti-roll bar, TCP power rack
& pinion and Baer bump steer eliminator. The rear suspension setup
includes a modified TCP G-link canted four-bar coilover system with
splined anti-roll bar. Wilwood disc brakes are on all four corners,
with 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors up front and 12-inch
drilled and slotted rotors at the rear, as well as custom machined
4-piston calipers on all four corners. It rides on a set of custom
one-off three-piece Forgeline wheels with hidden bolts and custom
center lock three-bar spinner. The wheels, sized 18x8 in the front
and 18x10 in the rear, feature a black powder-coated center with
diamond-cut edges, as well as chrome outer and inner hoops. The
exterior of this Mustang is finished in PPG Concept Black. It
features extensive body work, including custom cut and welded sheet
metal, the front and rear bumpers smoothed and tucked, rocker
panels lowered to cover pinch weld, recessed LED taillights,
recessed one-off gas cap, rear roll pan with recessed license
plate, rear spoiler, rear wheel tubs, side faux vents, GM style
door handles, shaved door and trunk locks, custom front with grill
opening cowl, stainless mesh grille, and modified headlights with
turn signals, license plate and emblems. The interior, created by
Cutter's Custom Stitchin', features Cooltouch black leather, a
custom dash pad and rear seat, modified Sparco front seats, black
Daytona weave carpet, fully upholstered trunk, one-off steering
wheel, a custom Shelby-style 1.625-inch chromoly roll cage, custom
