For Sale at Auction: 1965 Superformance MKIII in Scottsdale, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This 1965 Superformance MKIII roadster was custom-built in 2015, designed and constructed by Ted Taormina. It is powered by a 351 Windsor stroker V8 engine expanded to 427ci, producing 650hp and 600 ft/lbs of torque, paired with a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission. The induction system features four 48 IDA Weber carburetors, delivering responsive performance and a distinctive exhaust note. The exterior is finished in McLaren Volcano Orange accented by classic Rally stripes, combining modern paint technology with traditional styling. The cabin is trimmed in black Alcantara with orange stitching and piping, highlighted by custom-embroidered Carroll Shelby signatures on the seats. This car rides on 18-inch Halibrand black wheels wrapped in Toyo R888 tires for enhanced grip and handling. Built as a modern interpretation of the iconic roadster, this example showcases Taormina's precision craftsmanship and attention to performance engineering.
