This 1935 International Harvester custom pickup is powered by a
392ci Chrysler HEMI engine rebuilt by Dunn Performance Engines with
Hilborn fuel injection converted to EFI, managed by a Holley
Dominator control unit and backed by a General Motors TCI 4L60E
4-speed automatic transmission. Engine equipment includes HEMI Hot
Heads valve covers, a big-block Chevrolet water pump conversion,
Sanden air-conditioning compressor, power steering, a custom
aluminum radiator shroud, a high-efficiency fan and a hand-built
polished stainless TIG-welded exhaust system. The build began with
an original 1935 International Harvester cab, fenders, hood and
running boards; the cab was chopped 2.5 inches without changing the
rear-window opening, the cowl was extended 2 inches for added
legroom and a fabricated firewall provides clearance for the HEMI.
It features suicide doors with rebuilt and smoothed doorjambs and
doors, an original grille and grille shell, and a new hood and hood
sides fabricated to clear the HEMI valve covers, with removable
hood sides that provide an open view of the engine compartment. The
interior cab metal has been reworked, and the original dash has
been modified to accept Dakota Digital instruments, with Dakota
Digital keyless entry and remotes that operate the power windows
and door-latch actuators. Comfort and electronics include Vintage
Air climate control with hidden heater and air-conditioning lines,
and American Autowire professional wiring with concealed relays and
circuit protection, with electronics mounted under flip-up seats
for access. LED exterior lighting and the original headlight
housings and stands are retained with upgraded high-output bulbs
and lenses. The original bed was replaced with a hand-fabricated
bed sized to the modified cab, with custom bed wood, hand-built
rear fenders, smooth running boards and custom splash aprons that
cover the frame. The chassis retains stock frame rails from the
rear of the cab forward, fully boxed and smoothed yet preserving
the original VIN stamping, while the front has an Art Morrison
front clip with polished upper and lower control arms and Ridetech
ShockWave units with ride-height sensors. The rear suspension uses
an Art Morrison frame clip with a Ford-style 9-inch rear axle with
3.70:1 limited-slip differential narrowed for tire clearance,
polished four-bar links and Ridetech ShockWave units, all managed
by a Ridetech programmable system. This pickup rides on 18x7 Billet
Specialties wheels with 275/40R18 tires up front and custom-built
20x12 wheels with Pirelli P Zero 335/30-series tires in the rear.
Stopping is provided by Wilwood 13-inch front disc brakes with
upgraded calipers and Wilwood 14-inch rear disc brakes. The build
uses specialty fasteners throughout, with the undercarriage
finished in body-color-tinted Raptor lining epoxy spray. This
custom 1935 International Harvester pickup was designed and built
by Treasure Valley Street Rods of Boise, ID.
