This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer was built by Adams Customs in
Arizona and rides on a Roadster Shop IFS 4x4 chassis utilizing
modern GM suspension components and geometry. It is powered by a
460hp LT1 GM crate engine paired with a 10L90E 10-speed automatic
transmission with shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. Factory
manifolds with catalytic converters feed a stainless-steel Borla
exhaust system, while cooling is handled by modern OEM GM
components. Fox 2.0 Performance coilovers and long-travel Deaver
leaf springs are used for ride control, and stopping power is
provided by four-wheel power disc brakes. Additional features
include power rack & pinion steering, a Class 4 hitch, a helper bag
system with an onboard compressor and a stainless fuel tank. Modern
GM mechanical systems are used throughout the truck, providing
serviceability at any GM dealership. The vehicle is equipped with
17-inch Mickey Thompson wheels wrapped in 34-inch BFGoodrich tires.
The body was fully reworked, including refined door gaps, and is
painted in Porsche Chalk Gray basecoat/clearcoat with Linen White
accents. Power windows were added, and the door latches and
tailgate were upgraded with modern Bear Claw latches reworked for
soft-close functionality. The custom interior features custom Apex
Ultra square-weave carpet with leather edging and high-back bucket
seats shifted 1.5 inches rearward and upholstered in tan Apex Auto
leather. Additional interior features include a smooth roll bar
with three-point seat belts, Dakota Digital RTX gauges, a
RetroSound stereo system, a Gen 5 Vintage Air climate-control
system, an Ididit steering column topped with a Sparc steering
wheel. This custom K5 Blazer was featured in the 2025 SEMA Battle
of the Builders and placed in the Top 10 in the 4-Wheel and
Off-Road category.
