This custom 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, formerly owned by longtime
collector Jay Cimino and featured on "My Classic Car" with Dennis
Gage, combines 1950s styling with modern performance engineering.
It is powered by a 383ci Chevrolet V8 engine with a Hilborn-style
electronic fuel-injection system using Accel Gen 7 technology,
dyno-tuned by Lingenfelter Engineering to produce 420hp and 470
ft/lbs of torque, paired with a TCI Automotive high-performance GM
700R4 automatic transmission. The reinforced and smoothed body
features a remote-controlled power clamshell tilt front end,
power-opening trunk and doors, shaved handles, frenched headlights
and taillights, integrated rear fins, and LED running and
taillights. The powder-coated steel tube frame supports a Corvette
C5 front suspension, C4 rear suspension, Corvette C5 brakes, QA1
coilover shock absorbers and Boyd Coddington 18-inch custom wheels.
The interior features a fully leather-lined cabin with
power-operated bucket seats, a Vintage Air climate-control system,
Flaming River tilt steering column, Haneline custom gauges, Lokar
shifter and pedals, and a custom stereo with XM radio.
