Designed by AVA Customs and completed by Maverick Garage, this
custom 1959 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by a
Chevrolet crate LS3 6.2-liter V8 engine rated at 436hp, mated to a
4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission. The intake features polished
55mm-profile air horns and a gold Cerakote-coated throttle body
manifold by Borla Performance. Accent interior lighting and stealth
lift actuators concealed at the front of the hood have been added
to maximize view lines of the engine bay. The chassis is a
powder-coated Satin Black Roadster Shop platform with independent
front and rear suspension, aluminum control arms, front and rear
sway bars, and power rack & pinion steering. Braking is handled by
14-inch Baer disc brakes at all four corners. Supporting components
include a Rick's custom fuel tank, a Mattson custom radiator and a
Ferrari-style trickle charger with a full battery kill switch. This
build rides on custom 18-inch Schott wheels color-matched to the
Sunset Gold Metallic exterior, which are wrapped in Nitto 555
tires. The body retains its original panels and is one of 9,670
Corvettes produced for the model year. The custom interior,
finished by award-winning designer Albert Lara, features Oyster
White leather upholstery, light gold leather-wrapped dash,
Mercedes-Benz carpeting, power windows, Vintage Air system, custom
seatbelts, Sparco steering wheel, Ididit steering column and Dakota
Digital gauges fitted to the original cove. Restored original
stainless console components are also retained. The initial build
was completed over four years by Joe Peck Customs. The sale
includes a bound photo book documenting the entire build process.
