This Jerry MacNeish-authenticated 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was
produced at the Los Angeles, CA, assembly plant on February 21,
1969, and was delivered to Cormier Chevrolet dealership in Long
Beach, CA. It is powered by its authenticated DZ 302 engine
(partial VIN #19L524809, V0205DZ, casting 3956618 A309), Muncie M21
4-speed manual transmission (P9B5B/3925660/partial VIN #19L524809)
and a 12-bolt 3.73 posi-traction rear axle (BU0206G1/A189). The
complete restoration was completed in 2024. The DZ engine was
rebuilt, including component pressure testing and balancing of the
engine. The intention of the documented restoration was to keep it
as original as possible. Some of the dated equipment includes the
Holley 4053 carburetor, double-hump cylinder heads, Winter intake
manifold, AIR smog pump, alternator, brake booster, fan, fan
clutch, deep groove pulleys, distributor, exhaust manifolds,
steering box and water pump. The authenticated Trim Tag includes VN
266891 (Van Nuys plant with Fisher body number), TR723 (factory
Midnight Green interior), 5757 (Fathom Green body and roof) and a
02C build date. The two-stage repaint was completed in the factory
Fathom Green color, with three coats of each of base color and
clear. Correct striping was applied over the clearcoat. The
Midnight Green interior was completely refurbished including new
headliner, rear deck panel, sail panels, trunk separation pad, seat
foam and covers, door and rear panels, dash pad, pillar posts,
carpet and jute underlay. The interior includes a center console
with gauges and an 8,000-rpm tachometer. Also equipped with a front
and rear spoiler, functional cowl hood, Goodyear E70x15 wide tread
tires, matching spare and equipped with a Gardner deep-tone-style
aluminized exhaust system.
