This custom 1970 Dodge Challenger made its debut at the 2007 SEMA
Show in Las Vegas after builder Bob Motz was invited by Chrysler to
display the car in their booth to celebrate the launch of the 2008
Challenger. In 2008, the car earned the "World's Ultimate Mopar
Award" sponsored by Barrett-Jackson at Mopar At The Strip in Las
Vegas, along with Best of Show and the Mopar Muscle Editor's Choice
awards. Power comes from an all-aluminum 810hp Keith Black HEMI
engine equipped with a Pro Fogger 2 nitrous oxide system that
increases output to approximately 1,300hp. The engine is backed by
a hydraulic clutch and all-aluminum driveline, paired with a Fab 9
rear end featuring Detroit Lockers. The car rides on a Magnum Force
4430 tubular K-member suspension and Ridetech air suspension system
with controller mounted in the console. Stopping power is provided
by Wilwood brakes, and it rolls on a custom one-off set of Boyd
Coddington wheels designed exclusively for this build. The chassis
is reinforced with a 12-point chromoly roll cage by Advanced
Chassis. The custom paint was applied using PPG Candy Apple Red on
the lower body with a Black Cherry highlight and a gold leaf accent
stripe. The interior was crafted by Paul Atkins and features a
combination of suede and leather upholstery with modern comfort and
control integrated seamlessly into the Pro-Street aesthetic.
Additional details include custom chrome air tanks, full air
management integration and show-level finishing throughout the
engine bay and undercarriage. Built with no expense spared, this
Challenger represents Bob Motz's ultimate Pro-Street vision,
combining cutting-edge performance engineering with an
award-winning presentation.
