This 1955 Chevrolet Cameo custom pickup is powered by a 350ci ZZ4
V8 crate engine rated at 355hp, paired with a 700R4 4-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive. The engine features aluminum
heads, aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor, an LT1
roller hot cam with 1.6 roller rockers and ceramic-coated headers
into a dual exhaust system. A custom chromed firewall and
color-matched engine bay enhances the presentation under the hood.
The reengineered chassis is equipped with independent front
suspension, power rack & pinion steering, a four-link rear
suspension with coilovers, power brakes with front discs and a
Chevelle limited-slip differential. An aluminum fuel tank is
mounted beneath the custom bed. The body retains its original cab
and body panels and is finished in Bombay Ivory with gold metal
flake paint accented by Cardinal Red trim. Chrome bumpers, grille
and trim pieces, along with a bed fitted with dark oak and polished
stainless-steel strips, complement the exterior. The Cameo was a
limited-production model featuring a fiberglass bed and tailgate,
and this example maintains that signature design. The interior
features red Naugahyde tuck-and-roll upholstery over a bench seat,
complemented by wool carpeting. Equipment includes a chrome tilt
steering column with a custom red-rimmed banjo steering wheel, Bear
Claw door latches, an aluminum dash bezel with AutoMeter gauges and
Vintage Air climate control. A custom center console houses a
7-inch Pioneer touchscreen stereo system offering Google, SiriusXM
and phone connectivity. This Cameo rides on 15-inch wheels fitted
with center caps and beauty rings.
