This 1984 Chevrolet K30 custom pickup with crew cab and four-wheel
drive is powered by a 6.6-liter LBZ Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine
paired with an Allison automatic transmission. The conversion was
completed as a frame-off build, integrating late-model diesel
powertrain components into the heavy-duty K30 chassis. The LBZ
Duramax was originally factory-rated at 360hp and 650 ft/lbs of
torque, and the power is delivered through the Allison automatic to
the four-wheel-drive system. Underneath, the truck features a
6-inch lift with Fox suspension components, 18-inch KMC
beadlock-style wheels and 37-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires. The
exterior is finished in a dual-tone red and black paint scheme that
references period two-tone treatments, with cab lights, chrome
bumpers, and body side and tailgate striping. A color-matched cowl
hood provides additional clearance for the Duramax installation
while maintaining a cohesive appearance with the rest of the body.
The interior is fitted with a custom TMI upholstery package,
designed to provide updated seating surfaces and trim while
retaining the truck's original layout. A digital gauge cluster
replaces the factory instrumentation to provide modern readouts for
the Duramax and Allison systems, and Vintage Air climate control
has been installed for improved cabin comfort. The crew cab
configuration provides four-door access and full-size seating.
