For Sale at Auction: 1938 Ford Business Coupe in Scottsdale, Arizona
This custom 1938 Ford Business Coupe is powered by a 6.0-liter LS2
fuel-injected engine paired with a 4L80 overdrive automatic
transmission, custom driveshaft and Ford posi-traction 9-inch
differential. It was rebuilt on a powder-coated custom frame
equipped with power rack & pinion steering, power four-wheel disc
brakes, a four-link Ford 9-inch rear end, and full air-ride
suspension. Additional chassis enhancements include hidden wiring,
underbody sound-deadening, custom dual exhaust and stainless-steel
mufflers. It rides on American Racing wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich
g-Force radials, 16-inch in front and 18-inch in back. The
All-Steel body was stripped to bare metal and was finished with a
gold Mercedes-Benz base, followed by multiple coats of Candy Apple
Red and several layers of clear. It features a custom grille and
side panels, a reworked hood, trunk and roofline, and a reshaped
windshield opening fitted with a custom one-piece glass. The doors
were redesigned with one-piece glass and shaved handles, with the
hood, door and trunk hinges shaved for a smooth appearance. The
trunk now operates via a power lift. The Cream-colored interior
features power windows, power seats, a tilt steering wheel, cruise
control, custom Classic Instruments gauges color-matched to the
interior, bucket seats with matching belts and a custom stereo. It
has been driven 5,935 miles since the build completion.
