One of only 1,044 produced in 1968, this GT500 is powered by a date-code-correct 428ci Police Interceptor engine, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This GT500 retains all its original sheet metal. While not VIN-stamped, the engine block casting date aligns with the car's build timeline. During restoration, the original Build Sheet was discovered beneath the dashboard, adding to an already exceptional provenance package that includes the original Ford Motor Company invoice, original Shelby American invoice, VIN plate, Shelby Tag and Buck Tag. The concours restoration preserved every original metal panel, with the body fully disassembled, refinished and reassembled using factory-correct fasteners, finishes and materials.
