This 1967 Shelby GT500 is powered by its original matching-numbers
428ci Police Interceptor V8 engine rated at 355hp, equipped with
dual 4-barrel carburetors feeding an aluminum intake manifold and
paired with its original Toploader 4-speed manual transmission and
a correct Ford 9-inch rear differential. The car retains factory
power steering and front disc brakes, and the engine bay includes
original hardware and fasteners consistent with its long-term
preservation. Delivered new in Nightmist Blue with white Le Mans
stripes, it was purchased in 1967 by Larry Tingle, a member of the
Los Angeles Dodgers organization, and was placed into storage in
the late 1960s, where it remained in protected conditions for
decades. The exterior retains its factory-applied Nightmist Blue
color and has been repainted once, still presenting with a
consistent gloss appropriate to a preserved, largely unrestored
vehicle. It features the correct fiberglass hood with twin scoops,
original Shelby badging and trim, and all original fiberglass
components are present. The car rides on original 10-spoke Shelby
wheels fitted with period-style tires. Original brightwork, lenses
and exterior trim pieces remain in place with light patina,
supporting its unrestored presentation. The interior is an original
black deluxe cabin as specified on the Shelby order sheet,
including the wood-rim steering wheel, factory shifter, factory
instrumentation, door panels, seat upholstery and dash pad. The
original AM radio remains installed and operational, and the
console trim and other interior details are intact, consistent with
long-term storage and limited use. According to the provided
history, the car is a three-owner example from new with continuous
documented storage since the late 1960s. Included documentation
consists of ownership records, maintenance receipts and period
photographs, which support the stated ownership chain and long-term
preservation. The mileage is described as exceptionally low and
believed to be original per the accompanying records.
