This custom 1976 Ford Bronco is powered by a new 5.0-liter Coyote
V8 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and
four-wheel drive. Powertrain details include a Velocity exclusive
15-gallon aluminum tank with internal GM-style pump regulated to
about 58 psi, stainless fuel lines, dual corner pickups, a center
baffle and a 3/8-inch quick-disconnect fitting. The build rides on
a Velocity Bronco rolling chassis designed and engineered by
Roadster Shop for daily use with off-road capability. The chassis
uses 2x4-inch boxed carbon steel tubing in 0.120-inch thickness,
factory body mount locations with a 1-inch body lift, preserved
outer frame width, increased inner frame clearance, an adjustable
drop track bar bracket, pre-threaded sway bar provisions, braced
frame rails for steering gearbox stability, weld-on radius arm
brackets and an integrated rear crossmember with E-brake cable
mounts. The crossmember is 10R80W standard and the frame is
powder-coated Satin Black. Suspension and brakes include a 2.5-inch
lift, Bilstein custom-valved shocks, a four-wheel Wilwood big brake
kit with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, and a Wilwood
brake line kit. Steering uses a Red Head custom steering box with
new tie rod and drag link components. Axles include a new Dana 44
front assembly with 4.30 U.S. Gear ring & pinion, 4340 30-spline
chromoly axles, Warn premium locking hubs and a 5-on-5.5 lug
pattern. The rear is a new Ford 9-inch housing and assembly with
4.30 U.S. Gear ring & pinion, a helical gear posi-traction unit,
4340 35-spline chromoly axles and a 5-on-5.5 lug pattern. Exterior
and chassis equipment include a steel chassis shipped on Guni
wheels and factory-spec bumper gaps. More than $400,000 was
invested in this build, which was intended as a SEMA entry.
