Nicknamed "Timeless," this custom 1961 Chevrolet Corvette
convertible underwent a complete, high-end body-off rotisserie
restoration by Why Not Motors. Built exclusively for the
Barrett-Jackson January 2026 auction and never before shown or
displayed, this Corvette represents modern engineering blended with
iconic mid-century design. Power comes from an all-new GM E-Rod
crate package featuring a supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine
rated at 650hp, paired with a new 10L90E 10-speed automatic
transmission. The engine, transmission and fuel management systems
are all operated through factory GM wiring harnesses and computers.
The car rides on a fully independent Art Morrison chassis with
adjustable ride height with Strange coilovers, while braking is
handled by Wilwood 14-inch rotors and 6-piston calipers. Modern
state of the art reliable hydroelectric steering was added to
enhance driver experience. The fiberglass body was stripped to bare
material and enhanced with a smoothed firewall, custom front inner
fenders and a subtly modified rear section accommodating quad
exhaust tips. A power-operated hood with flush-mounted LED lighting
showcases the modern LT4 powerplant beneath. The car was finished
in Why Knotty Blue with Ferrari soft white coves, with the
undercarriage detailed to the same high standard as the exterior.
The LT4 breathes through a dual 2.5-inch exhaust system with
catalytic converters and MagnaFlow mufflers, all ceramic-coated for
durability. Additional components include a custom stainless-steel
fuel tank by Rick's Tanks and a DeWitts aluminum radiator with
electric fan for temperature control. Inside, the cabin features a
handcrafted interior upholstered in imported Italian leather,
created using advanced 3D scanning and printing technology. To
honor its "Timeless" name, a vintage pocket watch is flush-mounted
in the dash in place of the original clock. The custom
multi-temperature heated and bolstered seats have been repositioned
2 inches rearward for improved comfort. The custom billet steering
wheel and shift ball are wrapped in hand-stitched leather to
maintain a cohesive, bespoke aesthetic. The full leather-lined
trunk houses a custom liquor case complete with a crystal whiskey
decanter set, matching glasses and a smoker, adding an elegant
vintage touch. The interior also features modern Dakota Digital RTX
gauges with Bluetooth control, while infotainment comes from a
Pioneer touchscreen Bluetooth audio system driving amplified
speakers in the dash and kick panels. Additional amenities include
Nu-Relics power windows, a restored factory-style soft-top finished
in Navy Blue Stayfast fabric, and extensive sound-deadening and
insulation throughout the cabin. This Corvette rides on custom
billet Schott wheels that are 19 inches in the front and 20 inches
in the rear, wrapped in Diamond Back whitewall tires that deliver a
refined modern-classic stance. The sale includes all build manuals
and comprehensive photo documentation of the restoration.
