This custom 1965 Ford Mustang known as "GT 427" is powered by a
5.0-liter Ford Coyote crate engine fitted with an InnoV8
stack-injection system and Motec engine management. It is paired to
a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter
and a Moser 9-inch rear end with 3.70 gears and Wavetrac
limited-slip differential. The no-expense-spared "GT 427" has been
driven 112 kilometers since completion. It features power rack &
pinion steering and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with
nickel-plated 6-piston calipers and 13-inch cross-drilled rotors,
providing modern handling and stopping performance. The custom JME
all-aluminum front suspension with a CNC removable subframe is
complemented by a Watts link rear suspension and Penske-designed
coilovers on all four corners. The body features an extensive use
of custom carbon fiber, including the hood with a separate scoop,
roof overlay, grille surrounds, side skirts, front splitter, rear
tail panel, mirrors and trunk lid, displaying a chevron pattern.
The engine bay is fully carbon fiber and the one-piece front clip
eliminates factory seams. The rear features a unique
ground-breaking layered quarter-glass with a louvered appearance
and flush-mounted glass. The interior is completely custom,
featuring a GTO dashboard with Classic Instruments gauges, hidden
roll cage, Sabelt Gen 5 Viper bucket seats reupholstered in
leather, power seats and windows, and a full audio system with GPS,
backup camera and alarm. Climate control is provided by a Vintage
Air system. Exterior LED lighting includes integrated daytime
running lights and backup lights within the tucked bumpers. It
rides on Forgeline SC3C concave wheels with bronze centers measure
18x8 inches in front and 19x10 inches in the rear, wrapped in
Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires sized 245/40R18 front and
285/35R19 rear. Titanium fasteners are used throughout the build.
This custom Mustang, which required an estimated 20,000 build
hours, achieved major accolades, including Great 8 Finalist at the
2023 Detroit Autorama, ISCA Street Machine of the Year 2023, Best
of Show at the 2023 Toronto Motorama and Top 5 at the 2023 Goodguys
Columbus. It was also displayed at SEMA in the Mother's booth.
