Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
SS pro-street for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The
first-generation Chevrolet Camaro is an American pony car
introduced by Chevrolet in the fall of 1966 for the 1967 model
year. It used a brand-new rear-wheel-drive GM F-body platform and
was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seat, hardtop, and convertible. The
F-body was shared with the Pontiac Firebird for all generations. A
230 cu in Chevrolet straight-6 was standard, with several Chevy V8s
available as options. The first-generation Camaro was built through
the 1969 model year.
Recaro bucket seats were upholstered in black vinyl with
houndstooth inserts and installed during the build along with a
hidden Kenwood sound system, Quick Silver shifter, and Vintage Air
climate control. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and
a tachometer ahead of the Grant 3-spoke SS steering wheel with a
flaming river tilt steering column. It features AutoMeter sport
comp gauges for voltage, water temperature, fuel level, and oil
pressure.
The Camaro had a frame-off restoration with no expense spared. The
body was stripped and painted PPG Black basecoat/clearcoat. Details
include a rear spoiler, front spoiler, SS badging, and blower hood.
Black five-spoke Forgeline wheels are mounted to Michelin Pilot
Sport with 245/40ZR18 up front and 335/30ZR18 out back. During the
restoration, the subframe was powder-coated, has a 12-bolt rear end
built to handle 1000 HP with a Hotchkis suspension with Fox-tuned
adjustable shocks. Braking is handled by Wilwood oversized 4-wheel
disc brakes.
The 486ci V8 engine was built by Big Al's Toy Box (Gaylordsville,
CT) and features a BDS airlock 871 supercharger, Holley 4140
carburetors, and MSD 6AL ignition box. Power is sent to the rear
wheels through a B&M turbo 400 automatic transmission with a
3600-stall converter and a 4-bolt main 8.5:1 compression. It also
features a custom exhaust system (please see last photos for
undercarriage).
The Camaro will be sold on a clean Arizona title. Call Classic Car
