INTRODUCTION: Mr Boduin took this Camaro to Wayne Due's Chassis
Shop and said he wanted to have his cake and floor it too! The best
of all worlds: it retains its vintage appeal while performance and
handling were upgraded to the ultimate level. It will snap your
neck or Sunday cruise with the a/c on! Magazine feature/cover
car
EXTERIOR: Professionally restored 20 years ago and looks like it
was done last night, that says a lot about its integrity. No rust,
it has GM panels and cowl hood. The panels fit right and it is
straight from any angle. Painted PPG Indy Red and polished to a
glass finish. It was kept clean with no antenna, emblems and
minimal trim. Recently upgraded with Detroit Speed RS headlights
with electric doors. The power top is a rich black canvas. It also
has a power window upgrade that works great. The windshield and
weatherstrips were replaced. Recently freshened up with some
beautiful Budnick wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tires: 19s in
front and extra wide 20s in back!
INTERIOR: Performance meets comfort in this completely custom
interior! The Corbeau sport seats are trimmed in soft leather and
have the vintage houndstooth inserts. The back seats, dash pad and
side panels are made to match. Down on the floor it has custom wool
carpet and a 5-speed shifter. The roll bar not only adds safety but
also makes the car more solid for improved handling. It does not
interfere with the power top or sitting in the back seat. The
carbon fiber instrument panel has a full set of Phantom gauges,
only 2,975 miles showing on this build. The Budnick steering wheel
is on a polished tilt column. Other features include custom pedals
and vents, power windows and a stereo. The 3 point retractable
seatbelts are a nice convenience too.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Here's where it really gets exciting! That's a
Merlin all aluminum 540 cubic inch big block Dyno tuned with 618 HP
at the rear wheels, that is almost 800 at the motor! Aluminum heads
were ported, the intake is polished and on top is a fuel injection
system. It was recently upgraded with a Holley Terminator X control
system and distributor then given a new tune. The front of the
motor has March billet serpentine pulleys, polished a/c compressor,
polished alternator and a modern power steering with a remote
reservoir pulleys Air conditioning gone through with new lines and
compressor. It has Hydroboost power brakes with a Wilwood master
cylinder. A massive Ron Davis aluminum radiator with dual electric
fans and an aluminum water pump keeps it running cool. The wiper
system was replaced with a modern one. Check out the billet fender
supports and hinges! This is a show and go motor compartment with a
little extra emphasis on the "go"!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted as
slick as the outside! Inside has been boxed and fully carpeted and
there is a gel battery with a billet hold down.
UNDERSIDE: Wayne Due chassis built and installed at Wayne Due's
shop. Upfront is a custom subframe with Corvette independent
suspension, aluminum control arms, QA1 coilover adjustable gas
shocks, a fat swaybar, rack & pinion steering. Custom made frame
rails are welded in to connect the front and back. In the back it
uses unique NASCAR style rear control arms, a Panhard bar and QA1
coilover adjustable gas shocks. It has a Baer brake system with
drilled and slotted discs at all 4 wheels, it has a custom e-brake
too. Great sounding, hand crafted stainless exhaust with X-pipe and
Borla mufflers. Looking up at the motor it has an extra capacity
anodized Miloden oil pan. A heavy duty scatter shield attaches to
the Tremec 5-speed manual trans. A custom aluminum driveshaft
connects to the Currie 9 inch rear with an aluminum center section
and 3.73 posi gears.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: You won't be disappointed in this one, it's going to
over deliver in every area!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
