Few versions of Ford's pony car have influenced the modern muscle
car scene quite like the latter half of its third generation. This
1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible comes decked out in a complete
repaint of its factory-correct Mimosa Yellow, along with a new
black vinyl power convertible top. With its sleek LX body style and
practical rear luggage rack, this drop-top Five Oh is ready to ride
as soon as you are.
Inside, we find an original and correct Sand Beige cloth interior.
A center console separates a pair of comfortable bucket seats with
power lumbar adjustment. A two-spoke power-assisted steering wheel
sits ahead of a 7,000 rpm tachometer and 140 mph speedometer, each
flanked by a pair of auxiliary gauges. Simple HVAC controls make
switching on the air conditioning easy, while power locks, mirrors,
windows, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette player offer all the
modern amenities anyone could want in the late 1980s.
Unlike so many of these cars that have been highly modified and
changed over time, under the hood of this pony car, we find Ford's
venerable 5.0-liter V-8 engine that, aside from its three-point
strut tower brace and upgraded air intake, shorty headers and
better sounding MagnaFlow mufflers, looks much as it did when it
rolled off the assembly line. Power from that small block is routed
through a T5 five-speed manual transmission before being sent out
to the 8-inch rear end.

This 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible rides on a factory-style
suspension, while a set of 17-inch Cobra replica wheels helps this
car stand out. Power brakes featuring a set of front discs stand
ready to scrub off speed at a moment's notice. Few cars have made
the impact that the late-model third-gen Mustangs have, and the
number of good-condition droptops like this one is dwindling every
day, so don't wait. Call today!
