A highly original and well-maintained example Bare metal respray in
its rare and original factory shade of Silver Green Metallic
Retained by the same family between 1974 and 2020 Fully loaded
including the rare and optional factory cruise control Accompanied
by a soft top, factory hard top, tool roll, med kit, and
reproduction owner's manual The 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SL blends
classic open-top elegance with robust V-8 power, offering its
owners a refined driving experience that helped define the R107 era
of Mercedes-Benz. Well-maintained and cared for since new, this
largely original 450SL was under the original family's ownership
for 46 years. Bought new through an Oklahoma dealership, the
original family checked the box for a plethora of factory features,
including the rare factory cruise control. Finished in the seldom
seen factory colors of Silver Green Metallic (851H) with a Pine
Green Metallic (862G) removable hardtop, the couple took delivery
of the car at the factory in Germany and drove this example around
Europe for a number of weeks. Carefully maintaining this example
and always storing it in their climate-controlled garage from new,
the current owner would take ownership of this Mercedes-Benz in a
package deal for another one of the family's Mercedes in 2020.
Under his ownership, this well cared for example was entrusted to
Huber Restorations of Tulsa, Oklahoma for a bare metal respray in
its factory original colors. After which, this 450SL was brought to
Mercedes specialist Autohaus of Tulsa for a mechanical freshening.
Today, this example shows just 87,709 miles on the odometer, which
the owner believes to be actual. The unique and rare factory colors
present very well, and the original green interior is impressive,
as it has been kept to a high standard. Loaded with factory options
such as power steering, power brakes, power windows, an automatic
power antenna, heated rear window, central locking system,
air-conditioning, Becker Mexico cassette radio, and rare cruise
control, it is '70s luxury on wheels at its finest. Power is
derived from a 4.5-litre V-8 engine with Bosch fuel injection and
is backed by an automatic transmission. Accompanying this 450SL is
a soft top, factory hard top, tool roll, jack, Mercedes-Benz med
kit, and a reproduction owner's manual. Presented in its rare
original factory colors and under the care of just two owners from
new, this 450SL Roadster would be a delightful example to further
enjoy on the open road, top up or down. This 1974 Mercedes-Benz
450SL Roadster is located in Auburn, Indiana, which is centrally
located and within a few hours by car from Indianapolis, Indiana;
Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; and Cleveland, Ohio.
