This 1970 Chevelle SS was sold new at Terry Chevrolet of Grundy,
Virginia, and is powered by a 454/360hp V8 paired with a TH400
three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. The car
is finished in Astro Blue with black stripes over black vinyl
upholstery and equipment includes factory air conditioning (R134),
a black vinyl roof covering, a cowl induction hood, a black grille
and tail panel, power-assisted steering, power-assisted front disc
brakes, 14"""" Super Sport wheels, a Rochester Quadrajet
carburetor, and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl
and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, headliner,
headrests, door panels, and rubber floor mats. Equipment includes
air conditioning, a center console, a horseshoe-style shifter, and
lap belts for all occupants.
The Protect-O-Plate and an owner's manual are included in the sale.
The engine casting number for this car is E 1 70 (May 1, 1970)
making this block correct for a 4th week of June build date on the
car. The engine assembly date is on the Protect-O-Plate (0612). The
suffix of CRQ is for an LS5 with a TH400 transmission!
The underside is detailed and wears red oxide primer as it would
leaving the Arlington Texas Plant in 1970. This vehicle was a
recipient of a complete restoration under pervious ownership and
looks stunning.
