When we were recently offered this beautiful BSA Lightning by one of our best long-time customers there was absolutely no way we could refuse- a great customer and a great bike- what a combination.

The bike was restored quite a while ago and it was displayed and stored for a long time before it came to us. We performed fluid changes, put a new battery and some fresh gas in this Lightning and before you know it- we have a wonderful old rider. The restoration was done to a very nice level and now the performance of the bike lives up to the looks.

For those of you who remember, A fully faired gold-painted BSA Lightning fitted with missiles appeared in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball. It was an impressive bike for the day with a 650 engine that claimed 52 horsepower and a top speed of 108 miles per hour (we will leave that top speed for the new owner to verify...)

As a note this bike is titled to its engine number, not uncommon in 1966 and from looking at BSA sites certainly not out of the ordinary.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
