Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this simply gorgeous
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS Tribute. All too often, we see
tribute cars where someone simply added some badges to make a car
appear to be something it's not - that is definitely not the case
with this Camaro! Whoever built this car actually put a real-deal
1969 DZ302 V8 under the hood, and they didn't just stop there!
Let's dig a little deeper into this fantastic ride....
According to the cowl tag, this Camaro was built a V-8 coupe with
Olympic Gold paint and a standard black vinyl interior. It sits
before us today wearing an incredibly slick coat of what we believe
to be Garnet Red paint with Black racing stripes and a houndstooth
interior. Up front are a cowl hood with "302" badging, a black
eggcrate grille with bright surround and "Z/28" badge, RS hideaway
headlights with a Detroit Speed kit that makes them work quickly
and perfectly, a gleaming chrome bumper, and a black chin spoiler.
As you move around to the side of the car you can't help but notice
all of the high-quality brightwork that just pops against the red
paint - windshield surround, window trim, drip rail molding, wheel
lip molding, rocker molding, dual side mirrors, door handles,
"Z/28" and "Camaro" fender badging, and simulated rear fender
louvers. Making the side view all the better are a set of 15" GM
Rally wheels with Derby caps and beauty rings all wrapped in
white-letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires - a perfect fit for this
car. Around back, the black stripes continue on the rear decklid
where you'll find a rear spoiler that really completes the cool
look. Below are correct Z/28 taillights, another chrome bumper -
this one with vertical guards, reverse lights underneath on the
lower valence (correct for a Z/28), and a tailpipe exiting on each
side. A centered "Z/28" badge finishes it all off.
Lift the hood to reveal an incredibly clean matte black engine bay
with a 1969 DZ302 V-8 at the center. This famous powerplant is
outfitted with a solid roller cam, aluminum 302 heads, an aluminum
intake, finned valve covers with a cross-flags emblem, a brand new
Edelbrock AVS 4-barrel 650cfm carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner
with "350 Turbofire 290HP" decal, and rubber cowl ring. That's not
all though, there's a new HEI distributor, new spark plugs, new
plug wires, a newer aluminum radiator, newer aftermarket hood
hinges, and power steering. The high-performance 302 is mated up to
an era-correct 4-speed Muncie transmission that puts power to the
pavement via a 12-bolt rear axle (circa 1969) with 3.55
Positraction gears. Exhaust flows from headers to a correct
chambered exhaust that emits its signature rumble through twin
pipes at the rear. Stopping power comes courtesy of power front
disc and rear drum brakes with a newer master cylinder. This Camaro
fires right up, sounds fantastic, and will put a huge smile on your
face when you put the pedal down!
Swing open the drivers door to find that the interior has been
given the same level of attention as the rest of this stunning
machine. The black vinyl door panels offer armrests, crank windows,
bright trim, and a Camaro badge, and they're in very good
condition. The new-looking front bucket and rear bench seats are
wrapped in black vinyl with iconic black and white houndstooth
insets. Not only are the seats beautiful, but they're very
comfortable as well. Between the front buckets is a center console
complete with storage compartment, seat belt holders, good-looking
faux woodgrain trim, working gauges for battery, temp, fuel, and
oil, and a Hurst shifter with a chrome ball. Ahead of the driver is
a 3-spoke faux wood steering wheel with a working horn on a tilt
column. The black vinyl dash ahead is crack-free and features faux
woodgrain accents that match the center console. The dash cluster
houses a 120mph speedometer, a working clock, and a 7K tachometer.
The odometer reads 68,566 miles but the title claims odometer
discrepancy. There are also controls for the working heat and fan
as well as working 2-speed wipers. In the center of the dash is a
Custom Autosound AM/FM radio that plays your favorite tunes through
a dash speaker and two 6X9's on the rear package tray. Ahead of the
front passenger is a grab-handle (for when the driving gets
"spirited") and a glovebox beneath. Overhead you'll find a tight
black vinyl headliner and shoulder safety belts and underfoot is
newer black hook & loop carpet. If you've always wanted to own a
'69 Z/28 but just couldn't bring yourself to drop six figures on
one, this car is your answer! It may not have been born a Z/28, but
it has the correct '69-only DZ302 engine with correct aluminum
heads and intake, correct chambered exhaust, era-correct 4-speed
Muncie, correct '69 12-bolt axle, correct taillights and reverse
lights, and correct houndstooth interior - it's as close to a real
Z/28 Camaro as you're going to find! To top it off, it has the RS
headlights, slick paint, stunning brightwork, and it runs like a
beast! Give our friendly staff a call today because a car like this
surely won't be here for long!
