The 2004 Cadillac CTS-V was a factory hot rod built into true
Cadillac luxury. It was a classic from the moment it hit the
streets, and that's why it's great to find one that retains the
slick shine of a well-kept machine.
You will instantly notice the shine on this sports sedan. The Raven
Black has the slick look like it was forged from volcanic glass.
The factory 18-inch wheels were painted anthracite to go with the
dark attitude while also adding extra distinction. Plus, this
package lets the special V-series chainmesh grille really pop
against all this darkness. HID headlights, large dual exhaust tips,
and an aggressive full body kit are all part of the factory
upgrades that makes the CTS-V look so aggressive.
The darkness continues inside, and the exceptionally maintained
appearance tells you it's more about coddling than pure
aggressiveness. It starts with Ebony black leather seats with
Alcantara inserts. They look terrific and have the supple but
supportive feel that only a modern classic can. This is loaded with
all the best features, including a power sunroof, power windows,
power locks, keyless entry/alarm, dual airbags, anti-lock brakes,
power steering, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic A/C climate
control. There are also some nice upgrades, like a Kenwood
AM/FM/CD/XM touchscreen infotainment unit with modern amenities
like Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. The power seat adjusts to your
ideal driving position; the leather-wrapped sports steering wheel
adjusts to give you an excellent view of the crisp gauges; and the
stick shift falls where you want your right hand to be. This is
truly a modern sports sedan.
The CTS was made to go hunt down the German cars, and the V-series
was out to play with the BMW M-Series and Mercedes AMG models.
Cadillac decided to upgrade its power by borrowing the ultra-hot
motor from the Corvette Z06. The 5.7-liter LS6 motor is believed to
be original to the car, and it absolutely looks pristine in the
engine bay. The fuel-injected powerhouse was rated at 400
horsepower and shifted through a Tremec T56 six-speed manual
transmission. Cadillac beefed up the fully independent suspension
at the factory. Brembo four-wheel power disc brakes, grippy ZR
rated Michelin tires, and a limited slip read end complete the
high=performance package.
