Here we have a 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4-a nice little rugged
buggy that makes driving super fun. It's definitely different with
a nice red paint job, and for a 1989, it's in pretty good shape.
The body is solid with no rust damage. The Land Cruiser is
outfitted with beadlock wheels for tough driving, a pintle hitch, a
tow hook in the front, a spare tire in the back, and rear barn
doors, making it ready for just about anything. It's equipped with
a small lift kit, side steps to assist people in and out, and,
because of the short length of the vehicle, it makes driving on
roads and back trails pretty convenient.
The interior is mostly stock. You can tell it has been beaten up,
but a vehicle like this is designed to take a beating. The
no-carpet and rubber floor mats are the way these vehicles come
from the factory. This design makes for easy cleaning, so you don't
have to worry about getting into it after a long day of hunting,
camping, hiking, or whatever messy things you've been up to. The
front seats are buckets with seat covers, and the rear seats are
horizontal bench seats for more seating space. The gauge cluster is
clear and reads in KM/H, the shifter is on the floor but long,
putting it right in your hands, and there is a JVC aftermarket
radio. All in all, the interior is nothing flashy-it's designed for
you to give it a beating and built to take it day in and day
out.
The engine is a 3.4-liter inline-4 diesel that uses glow plugs, so
it takes a little longer to warm up than a gas motor. An
aftermarket aluminium radiator has been installed. Power is sent
through a 4-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case
for the four-wheel drive. A solid axle is used in the front, and
for the rear, there is a semi-float axle. For suspension, both the
front and rear utilize leaf springs and shock absorbers. This
Toyota rides on 265/70R17 Pathfinder All-Terrain tires wrapped
around 17-inch beadlock rims. Vacuum-powered drum brakes are posted
at all four corners of the Land Cruiser, and an aftermarket
chambered muffler has been installed.
