RARE RARE RARE
1962 Chevrolet BelAir Bubble Top. 62 “QB” code, two four barrel 409 cid, 409 hp engine. Correct square port heads. It has the very Rare Plenum Air Induction System. Correct Borg T10 4 speed transmission with 4:11 posi- traction rear end. Currently has coated Doug Headers but the original exhaust manifolds come with the car. This is a heater delete vehicle but does have an AM Radio, Sun Tach, Tinted Glass, T3 Headlights and Rear Antenna.
The Bubble Top’s were only available in the Bel Air model in 1962. Only 5,950 V8's were built. There are no records of how many were 409’s but estimates are 25-30 % and even less 409/409's. These were factory built “Super Stock” drag cars campaigned by Dyno Don, Grumpy Jenkins, Dave Strickland, Ronnie Socks and others.
This is a very solid (no rust issues), great paint, beautiful stock red interior. Even has the correction “spaghetti “ shifter, spare tire and jack, 14” steel wheels with red line tires. The car looks, runs and drives great. I have owned the car for sometime and have had a blast going to car shows and cruise ins. Takes me back to my high school days….
”Dual Quad, Four Speed, Posi-traction 409. Giddy, Giddy Up 409..” This is the car the Beach Boys sang about.
